Baking campaign by trainees in favour of the Valentina Foundation

It's a good and successful combination: enjoy a cake and feel good - because the proceeds are for charity. This was also the case at this year's trainee cake sale on May 14th. Once again, the proceeds from the campaign went to the Valentina Foundation.

This was the third time that this special baking event had taken place. Eight trainees and one student put their baking skills to the test and baked 15 cakes for a good cause. Chocolate cake, lemon cake, brownie cake and various fruit cakes were on offer.

The procedure is already well established: the cakes were pre-ordered and then delivered to the employee‘s working places by the "Azubi-Express". "It went well overall," says Lea Volkstorf. Anything that didn't go in the first round was sold in the canteen.

This year, the proceeds amounted to 310 euros. The sum has already been donated to the Valentina Foundation. This foundation supports families of terminally ill children so that they can spend as much time as possible at home with their families until the end, while receiving outpatient, intensive medical and palliative care from the university hospital.
